Breaking Ground: A New Phase Unveiled at King Edward VII Estate
We’ve officially broken ground on the construction of 56 brand-new apartments at the renowned King Edward VII Estate. This milestone event saw key stakeholders gather at the site, including Marco Sidoli, our Regional Development Director, and Matthew Ward, Senior Site Manager, who ceremoniously initiated the project by turning the first spade of soil.
Nestled within the breathtaking South Downs National Park, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in West Sussex, this new phase marks a significant chapter in the illustrious history of the King Edward VII Estate. Spread across 165 acres of pristine private grounds, complete with Gertrude Jekyll designed gardens and woodlands, the development offers a serene escape just under an hour away from the bustling metropolis of London.
Comprising three blocks of meticulously crafted one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments, the new residences are set to redefine luxury living in the region. Boasting state-of-the-art design and premium finishes, each home promises modern conveniences such as triple-glazed windows, integrated Siemens appliances, stylish matt flat panel kitchens, and sumptuous bathrooms equipped with Villeroy & Boch sanitaryware. Additionally, allocated parking spaces and electric charging points will be available to residents, ensuring both comfort and sustainability.
Originally established between 1901 and 1906 as ‘The King’s Sanatorium’ following King Edward VII’s directive, the estate served as a sanctuary for individuals battling tuberculosis. Over the years, it evolved into a modern hospital before eventually closing its doors in 2006. In 2009, we embarked on a mission to meticulously restore the estate to its former glory, transforming it into a harmonious blend of historical charm and contemporary luxury.
With the new phase set to open its doors for exploration in spring 2025, prospective buyers can anticipate an unparalleled opportunity to immerse themselves in the unique charm of King Edward VII Estate. Marco Sidoli, our Regional Development Director, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “This will be the ultimate group of luxury apartments in a truly unique setting, offering unprecedented views over the South Downs and high specification internally.”
Echoing this sentiment, Shelley West, our Group Sales & Marketing Director, emphasized the estate’s appeal as a haven of contemporary living amidst a backdrop of rural tranquility, with London’s vibrant energy within easy reach. The estate’s proximity to Haslemere rail station, just seven miles away, ensures convenient access to London Waterloo and Portsmouth, while major roadways provide seamless connections to nearby cities and airports.
As we continue to redefine luxury living with the unveiling of this new phase at King Edward VII Estate, prospective residents are invited to embrace a lifestyle of unparalleled elegance and convenience within a thriving community steeped in history and natural beauty.
