Manningtree Park's Little Priory Café and Farm Shop has officially been granted planning permission!

We at Manningtree Park are excited to announce that planning permission has been granted by Tendring District Council for the Little Priory Café and Farm Shop!

Coming in 2025, Manningtree Park will benefit from a new farm shop and café that will become the social heart of the development. The new social hub will span across 2,700 sq. ft. of space and will include a bakery, farm produce sourced from St Osyth Priory, as well as a café and working space.

Set on the edges of Manningtree Park’s village green, the Little Priory Café and Farm Shop will welcome all residents and those in the local area. In addition to the farm shop and café, we will also be releasing two storeys of residential accommodation, comprising seven one and two-bedroom apartments with some featuring either a terrace or balcony looking onto the village green.

The proposed café will feature a single storey orangery extension that will feature indoor seating with terraces to the East, West and South also providing outdoor seating space. The design has been inspired by traditional Victorian orangeries and will benefit from large glass doors opening out onto the surrounding garden square, making this the ideal socialising space for all.

Our Design and Planning Director, Simon Vernon-Harcourt had this to say about the exciting news of the new café and farm shop:
“We wanted to create a vibrant and sustainable space that could be used by the Manningtree Park community, whether it was meeting with friends for a coffee or easy access to a local shop for day-to-day necessities. Everything from the architecture to the layout has been carefully thought out; for example, the café’s terrace opens onto a south-facing village green which maximises sunlight in the warmer months.
He continued by saying: “By providing fantastic facilities on site, there is less need for residents to go elsewhere, reducing the need to travel. I have no doubt that Little Priory Café and Farm Shop will play a crucial role in the lives of these residents for many years to come and become a central part of this community.”

The completed development at Manningtree Park will deliver 484 thoughtfully designed, craft-built homes, 1 & 2 bedroom apartments and 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5 bedroom family homes across a total of five phases. Residents will also be able to enjoy a natural playground, a dedicated off-lead dog area, a paddock of rare-breed sheep already in situ at the development and over 11-acres of landscaped parkland.
