Over 100 Years of Relaxation & Recuperation

Originally constructed between 1901 and 1906 as ‘The King’s Sanatorium,’ the King Edward VII Estate was inspired by King Edward VII’s visit to a German tuberculosis sanatorium and built in rural West Sussex for rest, relaxation, and recovery. Officially opened on 13th June 1906, the south-facing site later evolved into a modern hospital before closing in 2006.

Acquired by City & Country in 2009, the estate has been meticulously restored, blending Grade II and Grade II* listed architecture with exceptional modern homes, with The King’s Collection marking the next phase of this iconic development.
