City & Country partner with resident group to raise funds for the homeless

City & Country and the residents at its Factory No.1 development have raised £400 for the charity Help Bristol’s Homeless, just in time for Christmas. Bristol-based tribute band JAM Factory raised £200 at their fundraising gig at SouthBank Club in Dean Lane, with City & Country matching the funds collected from the event.

JAM Factory member and resident of Factory No.1, Ian Hembrow said: “We have been working with City & Country for the last year on resident events and fundraising efforts for our local community, so we are very pleased to see them matching the funds we have gathered for Help Bristol’s Homeless. SouthBank Club was filled with guests, including many of our Factory No. 1 neighbours. It was wonderful to see everyone coming together for a night of music and dancing, all in the spirit of a good cause.”

Shelley West, Group Sales and Marketing Director at City & Country said: “It’s been wonderful to work with the residents at Factory No.1 over the past year – they’ve established a real sense of community in the development, which is so heartening to see. Placemaking and community are at the very heart of what we do here at City & Country, so seeing this come to fruition in real time is incredibly rewarding. Help Bristol’s Homeless is an incredible charity local to Factory No.1 so, we’re very pleased to be able to help with their fundraising efforts for a very valuable cause.”

Jasper Thompson, CEO at Help Bristol’s Homeless said: “Homelessness is a complex issue. Our mission at Help Bristol’s Homeless is to find practical solutions to help those who are sleeping rough in Bristol. This money will go towards our support services that enable people who are facing homelessness in the city to ensure that they can have a safe and comfortable festive season.”
