City & Country completes Land Sale to Metis Homes at King Edward VII Estate
City & Country has completed the sale of a plot of land to Metis Homes at King Edward VII Estate in West Sussex.
The land, which has planning consent for 19 new homes, had been earmarked for sale at the historic Arts & Crafts Estate.
Having exchanged contracts before the end of 2017, City & Country worked with Winchester-based Metis Homes to amend the original planning consent.
Helen Moore, Managing Director at City & Country, said:
“Metis Homes has an outstanding reputation for the quality of the new homes it develops and we are therefore delighted to have completed this sale to them at King Edward VII Estate. As a heritage specialist, City & Country’s first priority for the site has been to restore and convert the listed buildings and to reinstate the delightful Gertrude Jekyll gardens. We are very confident that Metis Homes will deliver an excellent range of new homes, to the quality expected of this award winning historic Estate.”
Adam O’Brien at Metis Homes said:
“We are delighted to have acquired this excellent site from City & Country. The Estate has already developed a quality reputation for both restoration and new build homes, and we are looking forward to using our expertise to create a range of outstanding new homes in this stunning area.”
King Edward VII Estate has a distinguished history, having been opened in 1906 by King Edward VII, and its grand buildings include a remarkable Grade II* Listed former sanatorium and a Grade II* Listed chapel. These buildings, amongst others, have been expertly restored and converted by City & Country.
