Bundish Hall Barns,
Fyfield, Essex Silver Award for Best Renovation
Many barns are hampered by the buildings' location. Frequently they are tucked into a corner of a field or located next to a semi-industrial plant. Some buildings marketed as barn conversions are overrun with new additions rather than the restoration of the original structure and features. The Bundish Hall Barns development is different. The buildings sit well in their surroundings and the renovation has been carried out with consideration, retaining most of the original structure. Although English Heritage restricted the sub-division of the main barn, believed to date back to from the 16th century, the dwelling that has been created benefits from an impressive central great hall.
