The Galleries - The Restoration Of A Victorian Hospital

The Galleries was originally Warley Hospital and is a magnificent Victorian property which has been standing for well over 150 years. George Myers, the builder of Warley Hospital was a favourite of Pugin's and was involved in the design and construction of the Houses of Parliament. Warley Hospital stands on the former Brentwood Hall Estate, once home of the Kavanagh family, before the land was purchased for £8,000 in 1849.

The Galleries is the culmination of years of painstaking restoration by City & Country to transform these Tudor and Gothic influenced buildings with their high vaulted ceilings, trusses, exposed brickwork, ornate cornices and original fireplaces into to a landmark development. The original architectural characteristics wherever possible, have been retained, restored and incorporated sympathetically into the buildings. The discovery of the period features has had a direct impact on the design of the units.

Each home has been cleverly designed to maximise space, natural light and the original features.
