Mr Hyndman, an employee of the RAF and a first time buyer, has found his perfect property at The Garden Quarter; City & Country’s unique tranquil development of light and spacious homes located on the site of the former RAF Bicester, Oxford.
Searching for a home centrally located to the potential stations he could be placed, The Garden Quarter stood out. He comments: “I work in the RAF so I can be posted away at times, and I didn’t want a property that would require a lot of maintenance. The Garden Quarter is located 45 minutes away from five stations that I could be posted during my career and the development’s spacious grounds are well maintained by an onsite management company, meaning I don’t have to worry about it.”
As a former RAF Base, the development’s history also appealed to Mr Hyndham. He comments: “City & Country has magnificently captured the history of the building whilst applying all of the contemporary touches you would expect to find in a modern home. Everyone who has visited has said that my bathroom is what you’d expect in a five star hotel rather than in a home! You can also program the heating so that you don’t waste energy during the day.”
Benefitting from excellent transport connections, The Garden Quarter is perfectly located for Mr Hyndham. He says: “The location is ideal for me. Due to the spacious grounds you feel as though you’re in the country, although it’s close to the town centre. I’m an hour away from London and I’m also close to Oxford with easy access to Birmingham. An added benefit is that it’s located in an up and coming area, which is close to the motorway and the countryside”
As a first time buyer, Mr Hyndham had initial fears that the purchase process could have proved time consuming, however he was delighted to find the process stress free. He comments: “City & Country’s customer service is excellent. If you call someone who is unavailable then they get back to you within 30 minutes and have the answers that you need. For people buying homes that is quite important because the process can be stressful, - or so I hear.”
Properties at The Garden Quarter benefit from an enviable location surrounded by superb countryside, yet with fantastic road and rail links to local towns and larger cities. Nearby Bicester North station provides regular train services to London Marylebone, with journey times from 48 minutes. Oxford is less than fifteen miles away, and by road the A4095 by-pass provides quick access to Junction 9 of the M40, linking the Garden Quarter homes to London and Birmingham.
