Testimonials

Loretta and Andrew set their hearts on a conversion apartment at The Galleries having driven past the development and being struck by how stunning the buildings were.  Loretta comments: “The development has such a great feel to it and the gardens really complement the beautiful old buildings. There is a real sense of community that exists here and in summer time people tend to sit out on their terraces and socialise with their neighbours. It was important to me that we moved to a period property and The Galleries is ideal for that, the property was ready to move into and has a great combination of period features and brand new fixtures and fittings.” Loretta & Andrew, The Galleries, Brentwood.

Mark, 23 year old site manager with the Anderson Group bought a one bedroom house at The Galleries, a stunning Grade II listed former hospital in Brentwood, Essex. Mark comments: “Working in the property industry has enabled me to appreciate when a building is well made and after viewing The Galleries I knew it was something special. “People’s jaws drop as soon as they see it because the architecture is so impressive and the courtyard gardens make it look very palatial. Inside my property is just as exciting, with retained brick walls, timber beams and original arches having all being preserved. Rory and I love buildings with character and although each property has a unique history, The Galleries is extremely exclusive, which is a definite plus!” Mark, The Galleries, Brentwood.

"I had lived in London my whole life, most recently in a two bedroom apartment in South London. It was starting to feel a bit small and I wanted to be closer to my workplace in Canary Wharf. I needed more space and something that didn’t need any work doing before I moved in, so I started looking at new build properties around Docklands. Nothing I looked at came anywhere near meeting my expectations, which was extremely disheartening. I then found The Galleries while browsing the internet and was immediately impressed, as it looked beautiful. I visited a few days later and was absolutely amazed by the size and quirky style of the properties available. I quickly realised I would get much more for my money if I moved out of London to Brentwood and I’d get a much more spectacular property too!  Because I was struggling to sell my flat, I was really worried that the house I wanted to buy at The Galleries might slip through my fingers. Then I found out about the City & Country Group’s Easylife assisted move scheme. I realised that it would enable me to sell my property and buy at The Galleries, with the additional support of City & Country Group helping to find a buyer and make the entire process go as smoothly as possible. Everything was very straightforward and any questions I had were answered quickly and clearly. My house at The Galleries is double the size of my old apartment, even though it has the same number of bedrooms as I had previously, and my family and friends are really impressed. The Galleries has the best of both worlds, with lovely original Victorian features and a completely modern finish!"  Serena, The Galleries, Brentwood.

"We decided to relocate to the UK from South Africa when my partner was offered an exciting new job in the UK. We settled on Brentwood as a location, as it is so convenient for the M25 and for London and also my sister lives close by. It simply wasn’t practical for us to come to England to view properties so we had to search online. We looked at everything from newly built properties to second hand properties, but nothing really appealed to us until we saw The Galleries. We were immediately struck by how unusual it was and what a stunning place it would be to live. We are absolutely thrilled with our new home. The Galleries is perfect for us, as there is a community feel, but it still feels very private." Denver, The Galleries, Brentwood.

I was living with my parents in Upminster when I decided it was time to branch out on my own and buy my first home. I thought the building looked wonderful, and when I saw the show home I was very impressed with the features and finishes. However, all of the first phase of homes had been sold. I was so keen to live there that I decided to stay with my parents and wait until a new phase was released off plan. I went back on the first day the properties came onto the market and paid my deposit straight away.Having looked at a wide range of properties in the area, I can safely say there is nothing else on the market that comes close to The Galleries is terms of the quality and individuality of the homes here. My apartment has really high ceilings and amazing period features, giving it a really light and airy feel. The terrace is an added bonus and is perfect for entertaining.  Alison, The Galleries, Brentwood

I was viewing a new build property in Warley when I spotted a large, somewhat dilapidated Victorian building next door and asked my estate agent if he knew what was going to happen with the building. He could not help me, so I did a bit of research and found out that City & Country Group was converting the building into apartments. I have previously owned conversion properties and really love unusual or period features. I had a feeling that The Galleries was something really special so I immediately registered my details on the website. Approximately two months later the properties were released for preview. I went straight down to The Galleries and, as soon as I walked into the foyer, I knew it had my name written all over it. I put down a deposit on a one bedroom apartment that weekend. Friends and family would all agree that my apartment really does have the wow factor and the sheer volume of space afforded by the high ceilings makes it feel incredibly spacious.  Sarah, The Galleries, Brentwood

I was extremely disappointed at the time,” says Aaron, “I had my heart set on the property in Billericay and it was a big setback to have to start a new search from scratch. It was then that I found City & Country’s development, The Galleries, in Brentwood. I was immediately spellbound. The setting is totally unique and my apartment is packed full of character – something that the property I was originally going to buy definitely lacked. My family is delighted with my new home, and my friends are quite taken aback when they come to visit as they do not expect me to have bought such a special place. What’s more, the location is really handy for my commute to work. I am based in Romford but regularly have to commute to London. Brentwood Railway Station is just a short distance away, so my journey to work is quick and easy. Aaron, The Galleries, Brentwood.

"I wanted to buy a really special property as, although this is the third property I have owned, this is the first time I have bought by myself. So, when seeking out a new property, top of my wish list was that it had to be unique. I was looking for something out of the ordinary that I could be proud of and, most importantly, somewhere low maintenance so that I would have the time to make the most of my social life. I had looked at a wide variety of properties, everything from new apartments to period properties, but as soon as I walked into the show apartment at The Galleries I knew I was going to live there. Nothing else on the market locally could compete with the individuality or the quality of the properties there. My apartment is very special and individual and I’m delighted with it. There’s no doubt that it has the wow factor! "  Kelly, The Galleries, Brentwood
