Testimonials

“When we saw Old Saint Michaels, the development instantly stood out. The cottage was beautiful, the mezzanine level was very unusual and I knew it would attract many potential tenants, especially young professionals. It was a very fast rental process and weeks we had happy tenants moving in. This proved to us that the property has wide appeal and we believe it will hold its value over time. ”  Karen and Mark Purcell, Old Saint Michaels

“The property I have bought is the old Chapel which is absolutely gorgeous and packed full of original features. The view from my living and bedroom looks out over the old magnolia tree which I used to sit under with my patients, so I will always be reminded of the happy times when I worked here. It is fantastic to be back at Old Saint Michaels and see how the building and gardens have been changed into such an attractive and positive place. I might have lost my deposit on my other property, but I have gained a unique and timeless home which I know I will be very happy in.” Marie Edwards, Old Saint Michaels

“Old Saint Michaels is a really exciting place to buy a first home in as it is such an iconic building. When I drove past the entrance, I knew I had to go inside and I wasn't disappointed. I never thought I would be able to buy somewhere as special as a renovated Grade II listed building. When I went to look around I found a number of one bedroom apartments, ideally priced for someone in my position. My girlfriend also loved the place and the location was a real plus as it is not far from where I work and so near Braintree's centre."  George Buxton, Old Saint Michaels

“We assumed we would be best suited in an age exclusive development for the over 55s” says Mr Clayden. “But when we began looking at these sorts of developments, we found that the apartments were just too small. We are used to having quite a lot of space so something with a tiny kitchen and miniscule bedrooms was not an option. We were looking for over seven months and beginning to lose hope until we came across Old St Michaels. It immediately stood out. It isn’t age exclusive but it didn’t matter; as soon as we saw it we looked at each and said ‘this is it!   We’ve got a large kitchen and a fabulous lounge. It’s a three bedroom apartment and we’ve been able to change one of the bedrooms into a dining room. We don’t have a private garden but we have stunning communal gardens that we are able to enjoy without having to worry about the upkeep. We have a wide range of neighbours, all in different walks of life who we are getting to know, and we couldn’t be happier.” Mr & Mrs Clayden, Old Saint Michaels

“My previous house got too much for me after my husband passed away and I found myself struggling in particular, to look after the garden. My son lives in Braintree, along with my two grandchildren and he suggested that I looked at moving closer to him. It was really important for me to stay within easy reach of my friends, I’m only an hour away now and they often drive and come and stay in my spare room. I didn’t want a garden after the problems that I had with upkeep in my last place, nor did I want stairs to have to worry about. Old Saint Michaels is great because it has beautiful, communal gardens that I can enjoy and sit out in, but I don’t have to do any of the hard work. The last thing I would want is to move into a new home, where there was no outside space at all. The development is also gated, which gives me a much greater sense of security.” Mrs Tytler, Old Saint Michaels
