Community Liaison

At the recent SDNPA Planning Committee where City & Country Group's plans to restore the historic King EdwardVIIHospital Estate were approved, subject to the s106,we proposed establishing a King Edward VII Community Liaison Group to ensure continued dialogue.

We believe that the committee's decision to approve our proposals will ensure that the Estate's significant collection of nationally important heritage assets are preserved and restored, safeguarding their future for the benefit of future generations. However,we recognise that there is scope to further develop relationships with Council’s,interest groups and our neighbours to ensure that we foster a better understanding of our proposals, the benefits they will bring and how they will be delivered.

Since acquiring the Estate early last year,City & Country has been committed to working in partnership with all parties - including Chichester District Council, the South Downs National Park Association, important stakeholder groups such as English Heritage, and the local community - to listen, respond to and amend our proposals where possible. We intend to continue to have an open dialogue with the community in the months and years ahead.

We are inviting the local community to nominate a representative to become part of a Community Liaison Group, which will enable City & Country to ensure that the community is kept informed during our restoration programme, and can answer any questions and queries as they arise.

Information from the Community Liaison Group Meetings will be updated on this page on a regular basis.
