TV`s Restoration Man, George Clarke, has teamed up with City & Country Group to help preserve Britain’s Heritage, marking the launch of the project with a visit to The Galleries in Brentwood.
In George’s channel 4 series he rescues some of the most architecturally important buildings in Britain but converting them into unique homes, something City & Country Group undertake on a daily basis, including The Galleries.
With over 800,000 properties standing empty across Britain, City & Country Group will work with George to raise awareness of how fortunate Britain is to have a wonderful collection of historic assets and urge people to protect them.
George said “Across the country, thousands of old buildings lie forgotten and neglected, tangled up by red tape and development restrictions. Many of these properties are steeped in history and are outstanding architectural interest, yet are slowly being forgotten.
“The plight of Britain’s architecture is a cause close to my heart and it is great to see a company like City & Country so engaged in this.”
