The Former Domestic Site, Caversfield, Oxfordshire
Helen Moore, Residential Managing Director at City & Country Group, said:
“We are delighted with today’s decision by Cherwell District Council to approve our very sympathetic proposals to breathe new life and purpose into one of the District’s very significant collections of heritage buildings. Today marks the start of a new chapter for this historic site, reinstating its original intended use as a place of residence and carefully adding a new layer of history through the restoration and conversion of the listed buildings, the sensitively designed landscaping scheme and the addition of a small collection of brand new homes.
“City & Country understands the importance of listening to and working proactively with local Councils, key stakeholders and local residents and interest groups and I believe this positive decision today demonstrates how by working together it is possible to bring forward proposals that can be recognised and supported for the role they will play in enhancing the local community.
“I would like to personally thank Caversfield Parish Council, the ATC, Bomber Command and the CPRE along with other local groups and residents who supported our proposals. We will now immediately set about the challenging but rewarding task of restoring this nationally important site that has played such an important role in our military history, to realise our vision and to deliver the long-term and sustainable future that it deserves.”
