Award-winning restoration and conservation expert City & Country Group is delighted to announce the appointment of Dave Walker as its new Head of Sales & Marketing. Dave has joined the Stansted-Mountfitchet-based residential development business after setting up and managing the New Homes team at Bidwells in Norwich. During his nine years with Bidwells, Dave had experience of dealing with a diverse range of developments, including Fellowes Plain in Norwich, a Grade II Listed building, which underwent a careful and sensitive refurbishment and conversion into apartments.
As City & Country Group moves into an exciting new era with important site acquisitions, including RAF Bentley Priory, one of the most important buildings of the Battle of Britain and the Second World War, Helen Moore, Managing Director of City & Country Group Residential, commented: “The time was right to appoint an experienced Sales & Marketing professional to help City & Country Group with our ambitious growth plans, and Dave has demonstrated the ability to deliver excellent results in each of his previous roles.”
Dave has extensive sales experience from a number of estate agencies across East Anglia, and prior to working at Bidwells, was a Property Sales Manager with William H Brown Estate Agents, before working for five years in Sales Negotiator and Property Valuer roles.
Helen continues: “I have known Dave for a number of years and his experience, enthusiasm and drive is just what the company needs.”
Dave Walker, commenting for the first time since his appointment said: “I’m delighted to be joining Helen Moore and the dedicated team at City & Country Group. The management team has a clear vision for the company’s future, and over the past year City & Country has expanded the range of historic properties in the portfolio, which makes this an exciting time to be joining them. The chance to join Helen in further developing the City & Country Group brand was too good an opportunity to ignore. City & Country has a fantastic reputation for specialising in the restoration and conversion of historic and listed buildings into luxurious, new homes, and I’m looking forward to working with our in house sales and marketing team to increase awareness and ultimately sales of these stylish and unique properties.”
City & Country Group’s developments are as diverse as Old Saint Michaels in Braintree, to The Galleries in Brentwood, an early Victorian Hospital. The original plans were painstakingly researched by the development team, including detailed drawings showing formal gardens and ‘airing courtyards’ designed for patients of the hospital. The buildings and gardens have now been reinstated for the benefit of residents as part of the extensive award winning landscape masterplan. Internally, City & Country Group has worked with the structure of the original building and in doing so has created unusual and highly innovative living spaces.
City & Country Group’s latest scheme to launch onto the market is Grade I Listed Balls Park, which is being restored and sensitively converted. Located on the outskirts of Hertford, the landmark 17th century mansion, built circa 1648, and the Grade II listed Coach House and Stables, built in 1902, are currently being transformed by City & Country into 40 breathtaking apartments overlooking 63 acres of picturesque parkland.
