Planning permission and listed building consent has been unanimously granted for City & Country Group, the award-winning restoration and conservation specialist, to deliver a high quality mixed-use development at Angel Court in Colchester.
Located in a prime position on the High Street, City & Country Group intends to restore and redevelop this important set of Grade II Listed and modern properties for a variety of uses including a restaurant, bar and retail on the ground and first floors; whilst exclusive homes, offices and further retail will be provided on the second and third floors.
Alongside the nine new apartments that will include a penthouse, City & Country will also reinstate and restore the historic shop fronts on the High Street and West Stockwell Street.
Helen Moore, Managing Director of City & Country Residential commented: “We are very excited about the plans for Angel Court, not only the apartments and office space but also the rejuvenation of the historic shop frontages. Our team of dedicated specialists have the expertise, imaginative flair and sensitivity required to ensure that an attractive and long-term development is successfully delivered at this significant landmark in the heart of Colchester’s town centre.”
Helen continues: “Angel Court will not only continue to provide much needed high quality council services to the local community but also be attractive to owner occupiers as well as those seeking to rent good quality premises in Colchester.”
Work will begin on Angel Court in early Spring 2011. For further information in the meantime, please visit www.cityandcountry.co.uk.
