City & Country Group Announce First Residential Managing Director

30th March 2010
Award winning, restoration and conservation experts City & Country Group has appointed Helen Moore as Managing Director of their residential development and investment business from 1st March. Helen has assumed responsibility for the day-to-day running of the business and the leadership of the team with a focus on the Group’s ambitious growth objectives.
With 20 years experience in the business, Helen has built an enviable reputation for successful achievement and professionalism. She has worked at board level for 15 years developing and delivering effective end-to-end strategies, from land acquisition market research to brand positioning and effective sales and marketing campaigns together with excellent customer care and satisfaction credentials.
With women representing only 15% of the property and construction workforce, and particularly under represented at board level within property development companies, this is a significant industry appointment.
Helen Moore, Managing Director, City & Country Group said,
“Having set up my own consultancy, I never thought that another property developer would entice me back into their ranks, but working with City & Country over the past 18 months has been an exciting and challenging proposition and I couldn’t resist the opportunity to take up the position as Managing Director to work with Tim Sargeant and the talented City & Country team to achieve their aspirations for the company.
“The work that the company undertakes in the conservation and restoration of heritage buildings is unique and really sets us apart from other property developers of this scale. It is however, the passion of the family directors, their vision for the future and the dedication of the team that was the real draw for me. I wanted to be part of a company that brings such attention to detail, innovation and quality to the homes and communities that they create through the restoration of these beautiful buildings.”
Tim Sargeant, Chief Executive, City & Country Group said
“Helen has brought a great deal to the table during her time with City & County and has helped with much more than the delivery of realistic and profitable sales for which we first engaged her services. I have personally learnt a great deal from her over the period she has been working with us and I admire her work ethic, enthusiasm and no nonsense approach to getting results.
“It is for these good qualities, amongst others, that we are pleased to announce that Helen has decided to join us as Managing Director of our residential development and investment company. She is not only our first non-family MD of a major part of the Group’s business but she is our first female board member and we feel very lucky and honoured that she has agreed to join us. We believe that Helen will bring a fresh new approach, enhancing and adding value to the business through her leadership style and female perspective.”
Helen’s previous experience serving as a board member of two of the county’s leading property developers, Countryside Properties and Crest Nicholson, means that she has been able to bring a wealth of expertise to the company as a consultant. Her new role allows her to expand upon the work that has already been done to ensure that City & Country Group continues to thrive, continues to post healthy profits in a difficult maket and continues to achieve its ambitions to grow into the premium high quality housebuilder of choice within the South East.
